International conference entitled «Water unites us»

On March 18 of this year, at the initiative of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Institute of Cultural Diplomacy of the United Arab Emirates and the OSCE Office in Tajikistan, an international conference entitled "wAter unites us" dedicated to the International Decade of Action "Water for Sustainable Development", 2018-2028 and World Water Day, which is celebrated annually on March 22, was held at the Hilton Hotel.
This Conference was attended by more than 80 representatives of ministries and departments of the country, the United Arab Emirates, representatives of international organizations in the city of Dushanbe, non-governmental organizations, scientists and experts in the field of water.
The purpose of this conference is to attract public interest in water resources- as the basis of human life, strengthening cooperation in the field of water and energy, exchange of experience in the field of water resources management and renewable energy, attracting investments for the implementation of infrastructure projects in the field of water supply and energy, promoting global initiatives of the Founder of Peace and Unity, Leader of the Nation - President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on water issues, including the International Decade of Action "Water for Sustainable Development", 2001-2028.
The conference sessions discussed issues related to the foreign policy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the water sector and global water issues, the situation and prospects for the development of the water and energy complex, cross-border cooperation in the field of water, the relationship of water, energy, food and the environment, future plans for water and other issues.
