Projects in the field of drinking water supply, land reclamation and irrigation, water policy, improvement of the institutional structure of water resources management, water legislation and others are being implemented in the water sector of the Republic of Tajikistan at the expense of loans, grants and contributions from the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Currently, as of December 1, 2018, 25 projects totaling 352.28 million US dollars are being implemented in the water sector of the Republic of Tajikistan, including loans in the amount of 94.51 million US dollars (26.83%), grants — 248.7 million US dollars (70.6%) and the contribution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the amount of 9.07 million US dollars (2.57%). Of all investments, 45.07% of financial resources are directed to the implementation of projects in the field of drinking water supply and sanitation, 44.42% to the implementation of projects in the field of land reclamation and irrigation and 10.5% of financial resources for the implementation of projects in the field of water policy, improvement of the institutional structure of water resources management, water legislation, etc., not included in the Program of state investment projects.
In the field of drinking water supply, 12 projects are being implemented totaling $158.78 million, including loans in the amount of $42.00 million (26.45%), grants - $115.78 million (72.92%).And the contribution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the amount of $ 1.00 million (0.63%).
In the field of land reclamation and irrigation, 6 projects are being implemented for a total amount of 156.483 million US dollars, including loans in the amount of 52.510 million US dollars (33.5%), grants - 95.902 million US dollars (61.3%) and the contribution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the amount of 8.071 million US dollars (5.2%).
In the field of water policy, improvement of the institutional structure of water resources management, water legislation, etc., not included in the Program of state investment projects, 7 projects are being implemented for a total of $37.02 million. (100% grant).
